Coffee bar signs

A home coffee bar is often just a stretch of counter with a machine, a grinder and a row of mugs. A sign on the wall above it is what turns that corner into a place. These designs are made for exactly that spot.

Some are words, like Coffee Bar and Espresso Bar, for a clear label in a kitchen or a café. Others are objects coffee people recognise straight away: the stovetop moka pot, a latte with its foam art, a coffee plant, or a traditional Turkish coffee set with its cezve and small cups. There is even a coffee bike, for a lighter touch.

Steel is a practical choice near a coffee machine. Steam, splashes and heat don’t warp it, and the powder-coated surface wipes clean with a damp cloth. Over a narrow counter, a sign about two-thirds as wide as the cabinet or shelf below it usually looks balanced.

Coffee signs are also an easy gift. They suit someone who has just set up a new kitchen, opened a small café, or simply can’t talk before the first cup. Pick black for a white tiled wall, or gold and bronze to match brass taps and warm wood shelves.
